Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a rental, using our website, or accepting delivery of a NorthPoint container, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not book a rental with us.
2. Booking & Payment
Standard rentals are prepaid at booking by debit or credit card, which we keep on file for the duration of the rental. By providing your card, you authorize us to charge it for the rental cost, delivery, and any additional fees described in this agreement, including weight overages, restricted-material fees, extended rental days, or access-related trip fees. Approved contractors with a Contractor Charge Account follow separate Net-30 billing terms rather than prepayment — see our Charge Account page for details.
3. Rental Period & Extensions
Your rental includes 7 days as part of the standard rental price, beginning on the day of delivery. If you need more time, contact us — extensions are usually available depending on scheduling, at a flat rate of $5/day for any container size.
4. Delivery, Placement & Site Access
Please provide clear, accurate placement instructions when you book and keep the delivery area accessible for both drop-off and pickup — we are not responsible for property damage resulting from placement at the location you direct us to, though we always aim to place containers carefully. See our Delivery Policy for the specific placement and access requirements. If we're unable to complete a scheduled delivery or pickup due to blocked access and have to make a return trip, an additional trip fee may apply.
5. Using Your Dumpster
Once delivered, the container should stay in its original placement for the duration of the rental — contact us if it needs to be relocated and we'll help coordinate that. Load debris evenly and keep it below the fill line (level with the top of the container walls); do not load above the rim. Overloaded containers may require an adjustment on-site before pickup, and may carry an overload fee plus a per-day fee until the container is ready for safe pickup.
6. Weight Limits & Overage Fees
Each container size includes a weight allowance in the base rental price. Loads exceeding that allowance are billed at a per-pound rate rather than rejected outright — every container is weighed at the disposal facility.
- 10-Yard Dumpster: 1 ton included · $0.10/lb for weight over the included allowance
- 15-Yard Dumpster: 1.5 tons included · $0.10/lb for weight over the included allowance
- 20-Yard Dumpster: 2 tons included · $0.10/lb for weight over the included allowance
Your confirmed weight allowance and rate will also be shown at booking.
7. Prohibited & Restricted Materials
See our full What Can & Can't Go In a Dumpster guide for the complete list of accepted, fee-based, and prohibited materials, including hazardous waste, flammable items, electronics, tires, appliances, and similar restricted categories. Materials found in a container that were not disclosed at booking may result in an additional fee or, for hazardous materials, removal and disposal charges billed separately.
8. Cancellations
To cancel or reschedule a confirmed booking, contact us as soon as possible — the more notice you can give us, the more flexibility we have. A cancellation fee may apply depending on how close to the scheduled delivery you cancel. Any difference between fees charged and services rendered will be refunded or applied as credit toward a future order.
9. Permits & Approvals
You are responsible for securing any permits or approvals required for container placement — including from your municipality or, where applicable, an HOA — particularly for placement on a public street rather than a private driveway. We're glad to deliver wherever works best for your project, but confirming the right permissions are in place is your responsibility before delivery.
10. Property Damage
Normal wear from a careful, properly placed delivery is not the customer's responsibility. Damage caused by the customer's own loading practices, or by conditions at the requested placement location (e.g., a soft or unstable surface), may result in repair charges.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NorthPoint's total liability for any claim arising from a rental is limited to the amount paid for that specific rental.
12. Theft, Vandalism & Fire
If a container is damaged by theft, vandalism, or fire while in your possession, please notify us right away. Reasonable precautions on your part (such as not leaving valuable materials visibly loaded, or securing the area if a container sits overnight before use) can help avoid disputes over responsibility for any resulting costs.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking governs that rental. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
